Our Vacation Adventures

Two weeks ago we left for our Spring Break vacation. First stop Utah. Scott had a plumbing convention in Sandy so we all went down to visit with family. On the way down we stopped at our friends house, the Butlers, for a quick visit. It was great to see them. The kids all had fun playing together. Then we went to Scott's sisters house, July. We stayed with them for three nights. It was great to visit with them too. The kids had fun playing with their cousins.
Friday we were off to California. It seemed like it took forever to drive down there. The first couple of nights we stayed with the Coberly family. They have four boys that are just about the same ages as our kids. Plus they have one little girl. Their oldest and Scott have been friends since preschool and their second son and Joshua have been friends since they were like two. It was a blast to stay with them as you can see from previous posts.
Sunday we went to our old ward, which is quite different since they have combined with another ward. But there are a lot of the same people there. It was fun to visit and see all our old friends. It's exciting to see all the kids that have grown.
That night we went over to Scott's mom's house for a great Sunday dinner. We love visiting with grandma! Scott's brother, Rob was there as well. Afterwards we went to stay at our other friends house, the Watsons. It was great to hang out and just chill. The kids had a great time there as well. We got to see our other friends, the Neeleys, for family night. It was fun as always! It was really sad to leave. It stinks having such great friends so far away!
We left last Thursday heading up to Vegas to visit Scott's grandma. We love visiting with her! Scott's aunt Crystal came over that evening to visit as well. Unfortunately we only got to spend one night with her. Friday we ate lunch and then headed home. It was a really good drive...until we got to where we were stopping for dinner. It started snowing just outside the town and it just kept on coming. So we ate and talked about what we should do. By this time it was also starting to get dark. We decided that it would be safest to get a hotel for the night. I was so bummed...by this point I just wanted to get home. But we got a nice hotel that had an indoor pool. Scott took the kids down to the pool and I got to stay in the room for a little quiet time. It was nice. We woke up to the sun shining bright and the roads clear. So off we went again. The drive was fairly decent. And amazingly the kids did well. Below is a cute picture of Scott and Caleb. They fell asleep with their heads together...so cute!
The only bummer about the whole trip was that Caleb and Emma got pretty sick in Utah...coughing and fevers. Then me and lil Scott got sick while we were in California...so not fun! By we are getting over it and hope that that's it for illness for the year! It was a great trip and great to see everyone. But it is always good to come home!
